- How do I change information about my Club?
- To report changes in Club meeting time,
location, or Club President, Secretary, Treasurer,
email
directory@rotary5170.org the changes
which may be posted on the next newsletter and
within a couple of weeks on the website.
- How do I add an event to the District calendar?
- Hover the mouse over the Calendar button
and chose
Login. Select your name from the dropdown
list and enter your password. Once you've added
the event, click on 'Preview' and then 'Save'
when you are satisfied. District staff will
review the entry, and if appropriate, approve
it for posting.
My name is not in the drop down list,
how do I login?
- Look at the names in the drop down list
on the login page. If you see one of your
club members, perhaps a Past President,
ask him/her to share the password with you
or someone in your club that will do calendar
entries. A webmaster is best but not necessary.
- If they've forgotten their password,
they can click on the link to retrieve it,
it will be emailed to them.
- The District is not presently maintaining
the DAS database, no new passwords are issued,
the passwords should be handed down to the
president or designate from year to year.
- How do I change an event to the District
calendar?
- Only the person who originally added the
event can make a change. Login (see above "How
do I add an event to the District calendar"?)
and select the particular event to change it.
- How do I have something posted to the District
web site?
- Club events should be added
to the District Calendar (see above "How do
I add an event... ").
All other requests, i.e. web pages,
should be sent via email to
webmaster@rotary5170.org.
How to prepare your information
Pages should be attached to your email as Word
documents. Tabular data such as calendars or
rosters should be sent as a table inside the
Word document or as an Excel attachment.
Notes for better web pages
On the web all caps is equivalent to
shouting: DON'T!
Keep paragraphs short, 4 to 5 lines at most,
bulleted lists work well.
Posters and forms can also be made available
for download from the website generally as a
PDF file (Adobe Acrobat file) - you may request
that we convert your Word form to a PDF for
you.
- How do I report website problems?
- If it's a problem with the website itself,
send an email to
webmaster@rotary5170.org.
If it is a problem with an event on the calendar,
contact the person who posted the event.
