New Rotary Literacy Project!
- It all started with one person in our District
- DG’s past, future and present supported the project
- Zone 23/24 has this project posted as a great project on literacy (the zone literacy chair was impressed)
- Now LET District 5170 and ALL of the Clubs show the Rotary World how it’s done!
Books Are Fun! - Especially when your name is in one!
From Kindergarten to grade 12,
- every student can participate. The younger grades may even draw a picture of their hero instead of writing a story.
- This philosophy allows ALL the students to be a part of one big project. The younger students will feel SPECIAL because they had a chance to be on even terms with their older school mates.
- This is a positive way to integrate the schools and grade levels. We feel it is a nice way for us to celebrate the Rotary principles of Joy, Understanding, Integrity, Caring and Love.
Stories promote Literacy – what is Yours?
“My hero is a guy who is always there for me - my dad. He helps me in life. He’s there to help with my homework when my grades are low, volunteers as the coach of my hockey team and does things without me asking. He doesn’t know my hero is him.
This book will be a surprise for him.”
